At Gardens By Design, we differentiate ourselves by our ability to create interesting, low maintenance landscapes with multi-season interest, to improve curb appeal with new foundation plantings and explore all aspects of exterior design with our clients. Our specialty is using common plants in uncommon ways.

We address privacy, hardscapes (walls, sidewalks, patios), outdoor living space (decks, outdoor rooms), structures (pergolas, arbors) and water features.

 During our meeting with you, we discuss your landscape needs.  We learn your likes and dislikes regarding colors, textures and specific plants.  We discuss the amount of maintenance you are willing to do in order to help with our plant recommendations.  We consider any special situations or problems in your landscape.  We can provide you with a questionnaire to help you think through your landscape needs before our meeting.

Once the design is complete we will meet with you to discuss our recommendations. We will present pictures of the plants recommended in our design to help you visualize the completed project.

 We charge on an hourly basis for our designs. - $100/hour (1 hr. minimum).  A front or back yard design for a typical suburban lot takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete, if you have an accurate survey of the property. We are happy to work within your budget as needed. Please tell us in advance.

 At the end of our meeting, you will receive a packet containing:

• a pencil drawn, scaled design of your site with our recommendations

• a plant list including size and quantity

• a timeline for installation of the design

• written recommendations as discussed during our meeting

• useful information on soil preparation, planting, and watering.
